This will really depends upon the situation, but the plan is as follows:
If someone needs a binder, packer, etc, we will purchase it and have it shipped to their home.
If someone needs help paying for hormones, we may pay the pharmacy directly or provide a refund upon recieving a reciept for paid item.
If someone needs help paying their bills, in most cases we will contact the payee directly.
As you can see the trend here, is that whenever possible to pay the necessary parties directly or provide a refund to those who have paid for services. This is to protect our donors and ensure our funds are being spent properly. If the case requires it, we may provide the funds directly to the recipient, but the recipient will be held accountable until proof of payment has been submitted.
Our emergency relief fund will provide cash relief up to $50 for food, $200 for rent, and $100 for utility bills. Proof of need and spending is required. Also, the funds are limited to one per person, per year. The one per year limitation on food relief will be negotiable on a case by case basis.
This is just an outline. We never know what our brethren need, but we at BrotherGood believe that brotherhood is the foundation of life and yes, we are our brother’s keeper.
